The erosion of math and science education in the United States is well established. Statistics abound showing that not only are we behind most of the industrialized world in this area, but that our position continues to deteriorate. In addition, our country is not generating an adequate number of technically literate graduates who will be required in the near future to maintain our technological edge. Equally disturbing is the lack of students entering engineering and related technical fields as a career. This condition, if not corrected, has grave consequences for this country.
